My name is Michelle. I am orginally from Northwest Indiana, but am now living in Marsala, Italy with my hubby, Jay, and puppy, Nino. The food, wine, and people here have made me completely fall in love with Marsala, as well as the rest of Sicily and Italy.
I am an elementary school teacher by profession, but cannot legally work here. So, instead I foster my passion for food, wine, and cooking. I spend a lot of time researching recipes, swapping stories with the locals, wine tasting, tending to my vegetable garden, and exploring this amazing country. One day, I hope to combine my passion for food and wine with my love of teaching, and conduct my own cooking classes. In the meantime, this blog will will give you a glimpse into Marsala Mia (My Marsala), and serve the purpose of sharing stories and recipes with others from my culinary adventures here in Sicily, in other parts of Italy, and beyond.
Buon appetito!
Brava!can’t wait for the updates!
What a cool thing to do!
Are you planning to post some recipes??? (maybe ones that a simple cook can comprehend? LOL) I enjoyed reading about the history of Marsala. You are a terrific writer!

Keep up the good work, I’ll be looking forward to future blogs. But, I hope that it only lasts for a short time and be renamed “American woman in the US.”
This rocks!! Can’t wait for the recipes – and any tips – tricks of cooking in Italy. I think I want to be a chef if I ever leave the church world (not planning on it . . .but you never know.)

Michelle great content. I have just moved to Salemi, near Marsala for work with the properties there. Any chance of putting a link on your website to mine and vice versa ? DAvid http://www.salemi.co.uk
Thanks for the comment, David! I’d be happy to add the link to your site to my blogroll. I’ll actually be coming to Salemi with some friends on March 19th for the Festa della Pane. Let me know if you’d like to get together for coffee or something.
